Discalced Sisters of Mercy Mwatate Kenya(Mercedarians Nuns).

About us

We contemplative Nuns dedicate to intercede through prayers for the whole church, the captives and those who have lost their faith.

Our Mission

Radiating God's Glory to all, fidelity to Monastical prayers and being united in charity for the redemption of humanity.

We are purely Contemplative Order of Nuns. Nuns are religious women who dedicate themselves fully to the ministry of Prayer, Community Life, and Work inside the cloisters called Nunnery or Monastery. We keep the all the Monastical Hours of Prayers that includes: Early Morning, Morning, Mid-Morning, Midday, Mid-Afternoon, Evening, and Night Prayers. We pray for all and to all, and with all.

Some prayers are done during working or manual work hours. So, the better part of the day is covered with hours of prayer and work.

We also engage in different forms of studies to have knowledge of the world that is relevant to us. Some of the studies we take are: Self Awareness, Catechism, Bible Studies, Introduction to Computers, History of Religious Life, The History of the Church, Sacred Music, Spanish/Kiswahili/English/French Langauges, Church Documents, Papal Documents and any other course deemed important for us.

Currently we are in Spain, India and Kenya, but are gradually opening up to other countries.

For any information, Contact us via the Contact Column.

Our History

OUR ORDER FOR MERCEDARIAN was founded in the year 1218 by Saint Pedro Nolasco in Barcelona Spain inspired by our Holy Mother, our Lady of Mercy.

In 1603 Fray Juan Bautista del Santisimo Sacramento founded the Discalced and Contemplative branch of the Order

Our Charism

IN HIM WE HAVE REDEMPTION BY HIS BLOOD, THE FORGIVENESS OF TRANSGRESSIONS. (Eph 1:7)

Following the plan of salvation of the Father, Christ redeemed us with His sacrifice to all humanity.

Today many are living far from God for being slaves of sins.

Redemption is the main aim of our life shared and offered to easen the pain of suffering with tenderness to those who have left / lost their faith.

The redemptive charism is a gift of the Spirit, especially communicated to Pedro Nolasco more than 800 years ago freedom for humanity for all time and for the redemption to be today a reality Jesus needs you....

HE TELL YOU...

If you want, come and follow me...
